Bow Valley Anti-Racism
Community of Practice
How can we build a more inclusive Bow Valley, together?
Being actively anti-racist can be a challenging journey, both personally and professionally. You don’t have to do it alone. Many locals are working on their own initiatives to become more welcoming, inclusive, and anti-racist. The Bow Valley Community of Practice brings people together from across the Bow Valley to learn from one another.
We welcome you to join us in exploring issues, reflecting deeply, and taking meaningful actions to help make the Bow Valley welcoming and inclusive for all.

What does the Community of Practice do?
We’ve co-created a space for people living and/or working in the Bow Valley to:
Access resources, news, and opportunities related to anti-racism.
Engage in public discussion with like-minded people in the Bow Valley.
Develop new relationships for possible future collaborations.
We may have online discussions, hold online or in-person meetings, run training sessions, or something else entirely.
Members of the Community of Practice decide on the details together.
Why a Community of Practice?
-
Learn.
Nobody is perfect, and everyone is likely to make mistakes along the way. This is the place to learn from those experiences and from one another.
-
Share.
Participants from across the Bow Valley can find new connections, learn from one another, and engage in meaningful conversations about anti-racism.
-
Collaborate.
We are stronger together. By working in partnership, we can be more effective and make a greater impact in the community.
We focus on collaboration.
This is a virtual space to support collaborative learning. We want to exchange ideas, share tips, and develop a peer support system to overcome common hurdles. The Community is a free and open platform intended to mobilize people and ideas.
We aim to help inspire new collaboration and create connections between existing programs and projects.
The Community is just one outreach activity BVIP is undertaking as we engage with many different groups across the Bow Valley. These activities support our strategic plan by fostering collaboration and sharing ideas throughout the community.
