2024 Integration Assessment

BVIP brings together partners from every area of the Bow Valley to help create a more welcoming and inclusive community.

Every 5 years, we research the Bow Valley’s top needs, challenges, and opportunities. We want to learn what to change, so we can create a community where everyone feels at home here.

What we learn helps our community partners to create and follow a shared strategy to improve immigrant integration. This is our 4-year Community Plan.

Bow Valley Mental Health Participatory Action Learning (MHPAL) Project

People from around the world think about and experience mental health differently, so the services and programs that work for one community might not work for another. To learn how we can better support culturally and linguistically diverse groups in the Bow Valley, we’re leading the Bow Valley Mental Health Participatory Action Research Project 2022.

Bow Valley Integration Assessment

We heard from over 700 Bow Valley locals through a community survey, focus groups, interviews, and meetings. Here’s what we know about immigrant wellbeing, participation, and inclusion in our community.

Improving inclusion and integration of immigrants through a voluntary workplace charter

BVIP was featured in the Canadian Journal of Public Health, Innovations in Policy and Practice (2021) for our Workplace Inclusion Charter. The Charter was signed on by 8 Bow Valley employers representing 28 local businesses and covering 2,846 full-time equivalent employees.

LIP Data Portal: A resource for data and information about Local Immigration Partnerships (LIPs) across Canada.

Bow Valley Adult Learner Needs Assessment (2016)

We identified learning gaps that impacting vulnerable adults to stay, prosper, and contribute to the Bow Valley community. We researched existing needs in education-related services for English language learners, literacy learners and underemployed adults (including foreign-trained adults) in the Bow Valley.

Bow Valley Integration Assessment (2014)

Working backwards from a vision of full inclusion and integration, BVIP stakeholders identified relevant local indicators of integration to create the Bow Valley Local Immigration Partnership.
