The session highlighted the importance of culturally appropriate mental health care, and the barriers to accessing support that newcomers to Canada may experience.
We look forward to exploring these themes, considering ways to improve, and sharing the learnings with you as this project continues.
About the MHPAL Project
People from around the world think about and experience mental health differently. The services and programs that work for one ethnocultural community might not work for another. The Bow Valley Mental Health Participatory Action Learning (MHPAL) Project is a community-based initiative that aims to:
explore different ways people understand mental health, and;
consider how mental health services could better support Bow Valley locals from around the world.
