About the survey

This survey is a collaboration between the Bow Valley Pride Network (BVPN), the Bow Valley Immigration Partnership (BVIP) and the Rural Development Network (RDN). Our goal is to understand the housing realities of people living in the Bow Valley, especially those from communities that are often left out of housing conversations.

This survey is for you if you live in Lake Louise, Banff, Canmore, Harvie Heights, Dead Man’s flats, Lac des Arcs, Exshaw, or Kananaskis.

This survey is important because housing affects whether people feel welcome, safe, and able to build a life in the Bow Valley.

BVIP wants to better understand what inclusive housing means in our region and what people are experiencing in different communities and housing situations.

We want to hear from you.

The results will help inform a practical toolkit for future housing developments.

This toolkit will support stronger planning and help future housing better reflect the needs and realities of people living in the Bow Valley.

As far as we know, this is the most comprehensive survey on inclusive housing done in the Bow Valley. It is an important opportunity to gather local insight that can support better planning, stronger communities, and more inclusive housing options in the future.

• We want to hear from anyone who lives in the Bow Valley communities: Lake Louise, Banff, Canmore, Harvie Heights, Dead Man’s flats, Lac des Arcs, Exshaw, Kananaskis residents.

• Your housing situation: Rent, own, live in staff accommodation (employer-provided housing), staying with friends or family, unhoused or in shelter, or something else.
