Sign up for the 2026-2027
Bow Valley Workplace Inclusion Charter
Step One:
Sign the Declaration and announce your participation
Declaration
Once you’ve reviewed the 2026-2027 Commitments, the first step to joining the Charter is to sign the Declaration of Commitment to Workplace Inclusion.
We need to see two signatures from your workplace - one Senior Leader (C-suite, Executive, Director, Senior Management etc.), and one Operational Representative (example: Human Resources team member).
This is to make sure your whole organization has buy-in, which will make the program more practical, impactful, and meaningful.
To join the 2026-2027 WIC, please upload your Declaration and complete the Sign Up Form below.
Announcement
Congratulations! Signing the Declaration of Commitment to Workplace Inclusion signals your organization’s values, intentions, and commitment to creating a more inclusive workplace.
To succeed in your next steps, you’ll need the support of all levels of your organization.
Within 30 days of signing the Declaration, make an announcement to all your employees so they understand what your organization is working on, and have an opportunity to ask questions and contribute.
Your company-wide announcement needs to include the following requirements:
Leadership Endorsement – A senior leader (e.g., CEO, Director) must make the announcement, emphasizing its importance and alignment with organizational values.
Timeline – Make this announcement to all staff within 30 days of signing the WIC Declaration of Commitment.
Charter details – Include a link to bvipartnership.com/wic for more information about the Charter.
Internal Contact – Provide an internal contact for employees to connect with if they have questions about the WIC.
Invite Transparency and Accountability – Clearly outline how the employer will hold itself accountable, share specific actions, timelines, and responsibilities.
Once you’ve made the organization-wide all staff announcement, upload a copy of it using the central WIC Evidence Form.
Step Two:
Commit and Act
Welcome Package
We will email you a Welcome Package to confirm your organization is officially part of the 2026-2027 Workplace Inclusion Charter.
You will gain access to the following:
WIC Toolkit: A list of practical actions your organization can take to create a more inclusive workplace. The more actions you complete by the deadline, the higher your recognition as a Workplace Inclusion Champion. All participating employers must complete the minimum required foundational commitments.
Resources: You’ll be the first to know about training opportunities, free resources, and more.
Community: You’re not alone! Stay up-to-date with our community of peer mentors. We use an online platform called Basecamp.com to exchange questions, ideas, and resources. Connect with other local employers working to advance inclusion, just like you.
Marketing Collateral: To help you celebrate your participation in the Charter, we will provide 2026-2027 WIC promotional materials, including:
Email signature badge
Social media tiles
Newsletter banners
and more (we are open to your suggestions)
Implementation
Act: Throughout the Charter between August 2026 - November 2027, your organization will implement as many commitments as you choose. Supporting Agencies are available to help troubleshoot any questions.
Check-ins: Every month, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with Supporting Agencies and the community of other local participating employers. This is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded peers.
Progress Update: To make sure your employees are informed, all participating employers need to provide at least one organization-wide progress update by September 30th, 2027. This should include information about implementing WIC commitments, highlighting actions your organization has taken, what progress has been made, and where work continues. You will need to upload evidence of this update.
Evaluation
Commitments: Complete as many commitments as you choose by the Charter deadline: November 30, 2027. You’ll be able to track your progress so you can clearly see what you have achieved.
Evidence: As you complete your commitments throughout the year, you will upload evidence for feedback and evaluation. If something needs more work, you’ll have the opportunity to complete the commitment fully.
Recognition: Supporting Agencies will carefully evaluate all evidence received. Depending on how many commitments you successfully complete, we will recognize your organization as a 2026-2027 Signatory, Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum Workplace Inclusion Champion.
Step Three:
Celebrate!
Recognize your efforts and impact
To recognize your efforts and participation in the WIC, we will celebrate your achievements in the following ways:
