✅ Why This Commitment Is Important:
When Bow Valley Immigration Partnership consults with newcomers and immigrants, we frequently hear that it can be difficult to find settlement and community information and resources.
Foreign-born locals we speak to often say they wish they’d known about important services earlier. Many of the people we consult with suggest that employers can help solve these challenges by sharing more information about the free settlement and community support services available to Bow Valley locals.
Regularly sharing community resource information and creating a permanent space where your staff can find up-to-date, relevant news from helping agencies can help foreign-born team members thrive in your organization and our community.
Of particular importance for immigrants, newcomers to Canada, and English language learners, are the free and confidential support services provided by Settlement Services in the Bow Valley and Foreign Worker Support Services. These organizations provide information, services, and referrals that may be critical for your team members’ success in the workplace and in Canada.
Intended Outcomes:
Increased awareness of local services
New residents, especially newcomers to Canada, will more easily find information about free settlement and community support services available to help them thrive in the Bow Valley.Improved access to timely and relevant resources
A regularly updated central information hub ensures that staff can access current and accurate information when they need it.Stronger workplace support for inclusion
By sharing community resources, employers show they care about staff well-being and are helping to build a more inclusive, connected, and welcoming workplace.
